Research interests

I am currently developing my academic and research profile within neuropsychology, with a particular interest in understanding how sustained stress, social environments and biological processes can shape the way we think, learn, feel and adapt.

One of the lines I find most compelling is the relationship between neuroplasticity, inflammation and mental health. I have worked with the concept of inflammatory neuroplasticity: a framework for thinking about how chronic stress, inflammation and repeated patterns of experience can give rise to forms of learning and adaptation that, while initially protective, become difficult to modify over time.

I am also drawn to a more preventive and neuroprotective vision of mental health, with a focus on early intervention and comprehensive brain health care. And increasingly, to the relationship between cognition and technology: how tools such as artificial intelligence may influence attention, learning, decision-making and metacognition.
